Grenada May 2010

For our Spring trip of 2010 we decided to try another new spot.  Like last year we wanted to go somewhere off the beaten path of most divers.  This time it was Grenada.  Our friend Terry in St. Kitts had gone last May with a group of his divemaster buddies from the UK and he suggested the Rex Grenadian, an all-inclusive on the southern end of the island.  Once again, he was right on target.  The complex was large, but not overwhelming.  It was neat and clean and the food was great, as was the Executive Chef, who provided us with the best coconut ice cream we'd ever tasted!
Diving with Devotion2Ocean onsite was easy and fun.  The staff were very accomodating to our needs and wants, to the extent that we had one of thier divemasters, Ben, all to ourselves for much of the time.  His comment on diving with us was that he felt like he was on hoiday too.  A great shop and a very nice family affair.

Here are a collection of photos from the Grenada trip.

Curacao August 2009

For our second trip of 2009 we decided to return to Curacao, this time staying at AllWest Apartments and DivingLouis, the owner, and Andreas, the manager were most accomodating and we had a great time.  We dove with the Ocean Encounters West team out of their shop at Playa Kalki.  They were a lot of fun to dive with and treated us with great care.  We ate most of our meals at AllWest, having been very familiar with the grocery stores that are "close" by.  But we had many good meals at the Sol Cafe nearby.  Having the diesel truck was a real treat.  Can't wait to come back all.

Unfortunately while we were there, we learned that everything at Sunset Waters Beach Resort, where we had stayed on several previous trips was being auctioned off as the resort had gone out of business.  Like Indies Suites, in Grand Cayman, we do have our memories!

St. Kitts January 2009

Our first trip of 2009 was to St. Kitts.  Being somewhat off the beaten track of divers we thought it would be a great spot to relax plus do some diving.  We were right.  Our trip report will be attached.  The people were the friendliest we've met in the Caribbean, the lodging was perfect for us at the Timothy Beach Resort and the diving was very enjoyable with ProDivers St Kitts.   Had many good meals at the Lobster Pot, Buddy's and Mr. Xs Shiggity Shack.

Photo galleries are divided into several groups:

      The Wrecks of St. Kitts;

The Barrels of St. Kitts;

Land shots from St. Kitts.

We also met some great ex-pat Brits who were very helpful in making our stay more enjoyable.   Thanks Terry, Ken and Auston!
