We re-visited Sunset Waters Beach Resort on Curacao and joined Sunset Divers for the 2008 Dive Festival. We had a great time. Made some new friends and saw some old friends, notably Jim Hunter and Lynn Bean. We participated in several of the Dive Festival activities including the painting class held by Rogest.
We decided to return to the US Virgin Islands some thirty years after our first visit. This time to St. Croix. We stayed at one of the newly renovated cottages at Cane Bay Dive Shop. The weather was very windy and the seas were rough so we didn't get to do much diving at Cane Bay, however, we did get a great opportunity to dive the Fredericksted Pier on five occasions for typically 1 hour and 20 minutes each time.
On September 30, 2006 we traveled to Curacao for two weeks at Sunset Waters Beach Resort. We had a wonderful time. The staff with Jim Hunter was great, the food was good (the cakes being out of this world), and the diving and dive staff of Sunset Divers were exceptionally helpful. The photos below were taken by Ted, mostly with a 10.5mm fisheye lens on the Nikon D70 in Subal housing with a pair of old Nikonos SB-105 strobes. Hope you enjoy.
From June 3-17, 2006 we traveled to Bonaire on the Reef Photo & Video sponsored Truckin in Bonaire dive trip. We stayed at Buddy Dive. The first week some old friends were there with us as well as some new friends. A few of us stayed for a second week. Once again we had a great time with wonderful folks. The diving off Buddy Dive was easy. We also did some boat dives with our old friends at Toucan Divers at the Plaza Resort where we have stayed on three previous visits to Bonaire.
Photos from Digital Dive In #3, the Turks and Caicos Aggressor, September 2005. We spent a week aboard with a great group of fellow underwater photographers. The boat and crew were first rate.
